BPAS Script: Lynham 1997

Scenario

1482, Henry Tudor has landed in Wales and is marching to Stafford gathering support as he goes. He will then head on and eventually meet the forces of Richard III a Bosworth.

We are depicting a Yorkist detachment, under Sir Edmund De'Thorpe, with cannon are on their way to Stafford to join the invading army of Henry Tudor, en-route they stop for the night and set up camp. A local Lancastrian group, possibly travelling to join the forces of Richard III, under Sir Waterly, has scouts out who spot them and under fire return for the main force.

Sides

Rules of Show

• No breaking the Line, of either side. Reason: Noncom Archers on both sides will have orders to pick off those attempting to "sneak round the side".
• Fight for show until the last bash, hit shields, weapons and armour. Play blows as stuns or wounds and back off and stagger. Avoid obvious fatal blows.
• No un-scripted deaths, no cutting throats etc. until ordered. Reason: There are only a limited number of participants, dead rising to walk off looks bad.
• Follow the script closely. Reason: Timing of cannon and ground charges is crucial

Yorkist camp to be setup at the same time the ground charges are laid, help for camp to be obtained from RAF.

Script

At the end of the Yorkist setup a scout from the Lancastrians will approach the middle of the field, there he will spot the Yorkist’s and come under fire. He retreats for help.

Lancastrians advance and set up Pavis shields, at end of arrow range.

Lancs attempt parley but come under fire and retreat.

There is now and exchange of Arrows, Hand Guns and finally the cannon firesM .

Lanc’s realise now is the time to advance and charge. They attack the York Camp. Bash, replused, attack, Bash and then retreat.

Ther is another Exchange of Arrows and Hand Guns.

Lancs Archer and Hand gunner advance with pavis to trees.

Lanc Hand Gunner shots York Hand Gunner.

Cannon fires M . Pavis falls back on DEAD archer and gunner.

York charges toward Lancs’. Lancs advance to meet. Two Bashes, depending on time. Both retreat to camps.

Final exchange of arrows and then charge to death. Who Wins???
